Maya Edinburgh-Taylor is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist and is licensed to practice in California and South Carolina. Maya graduated with a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Texas at Austin and later went on to receive her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of the District of Columbia. Maya is trained to work with a variety of disorders (e.g., fluency, Autism, expressive and receptive language, early intervention, augmentative and alternative communication, etc.), and upholds a certification with Hanen’s More Than Words-which focuses on Autism and Social Communication Disorders and parent coaching.
Maya has always been very fond of communication, language, and helping others. She takes pride in offering services in which the client is placed at the highest level in the partnership and cultural and linguistic variations and values are considered a priority. Maya bases her speech therapy sessions around the premises of naturalistic and routine-based interventions with an emphasis on parent coaching.
When not working, Maya has a profound love for plants and gardening. She enjoys traveling, exercising, trying new foods and restaurants, and spending time with her husband, John, and her pup, Nina.
