OUR MISSION
At M.E.T. Speech Therapy, our mission is to provide individualized, naturalistic, culturally competent, client-centered, and relationship-based speech and language services via an in-person or virtual model. Our focus is to use the client’s routines, strengths, relationships, and motivating tasks to achieve functional outcomes.
M.E.T. Speech Therapy specializes in providing skilled speech and language assessments and treatment for children up to 18 years of age (we will work with adults on a case by case basis) in San Diego County. All sessions are fun, functional, and family and routine focused to jumpstart, improve, or regain speech, language skills.
Services
We provide in-person and virtual speech and language services. With the changes COVID-19 has brought, virtual speech and language services are a great way to address speech and language concerns in a safe and highly effective way.
Payments
We currently provide services with: San Diego Regional Center, Tricare West, and Medicare. We do accept out-of-pocket pay and will provide super bills for insurance reimbursement.

About Me
Maya Edinburgh-Taylor is a licensed and nationally certified speech-language pathologist. Maya graduated with a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Texas at Austin and later went on to receive her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of the District of Columbia. Maya is trained to work with a variety of disorders (e.g., fluency, Autism, expressive and receptive language, early intervention, augmentative and alternative communication, etc.), and upholds a certification with Hanen’s More Than Words-which focuses on Autism and Social Communication Disorders and parent coaching.

We have been taking our son to speech therapy for 3.5 years. In those 3.5 years, no one we’ve seen has come close to the sincere and genuine interest that Maya has with not just ours, but each of her kids! She is dedicated to learning all about them and each of the struggles they face and how to overcome them. Had it not been for her dedication to our son, he would probably still not be accurately diagnosed with both Autism and ADHD and we’d still be leading him down dead ends with his therapies. Because of her, we know how to help him accurately to set him up to lead a successful and thriving life. She is hands down the BEST!!
